Cacayan says that receiving death threats urged her to surrender so as to acquire protection from the NBI.

Even if she confirms that she processed Sally’s documents, she still keeps on denying about her connection with the confiscated drugs that were taken by the Chinese authorities.

According to Atty. Jonathan Galicia, Cacayan is now in transit from Region 2 along with the (–foul word(s) removed–)istance of the NBI though the warrant of arrest had not been issued yet.

Over the phone, Atty. Galicia made it clear that Cacayan did not go into hiding. In fact, she was the one who made a request that she should be placed under a protective custody.

Presently, Cacayan is blown by allegations of large-scale illegal recruitment and violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2008.

Facing a preliminary investigation, Cacayan is presently under the watch list of the Bureau of Immigration as ordered by the Department of Justice.

Moreover, the NBI goes hand in hand with the Philippine National Police to focus on matters with regards to drug syndicates, illegal recruiters, and drug pushers.
