Henson Chua: Filipino eBay Seller of US Military Drone Indicted

Henson Chua, was indicted by a Federal Court for violations of the Arms Export Control Act and Smuggling for trying to sell an unmanned drone and listed it on eBay at a bargain price.  The 47 years old Chua from the Philippines have listed the item on eBay for sale.

Chua was arrested on a criminal complaint on the evening of Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. If convicted he will face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. (–foul word(s) removed–)istant U.S. Attorney Sara C. Sweeney, Middle District of Florida will handle the prosecution.

The filipino was charged of two counts of violating arms export and smuggling laws involving the sale of a remote-controlled reconnaissance drone which was rightfully belongs to the United States Armed Forces.

The Raven was illegally imported by Chua from the Philippines and repackaged it. He was knowingly bringing an item into the United States which was illegal. Chua also aided and abetted the attempted export from the Raven, without obtaining from the U.S. Department of State a license or written authorization.

The U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was quoted as saying “ICE HSI is committed to protecting the security of our homeland and our troops abroad by ensuring that the sale and distribution of weapons and military technology is done lawfully, and that these items do not fall into the wrong hands,” according to Susan McCormick, special agent in charge of ICE HSI.
