Mariah Carey, who was known for being an R&B/pop singer-writer, record producer and an actress felt embarrassed and horrible when she knew that she had performed for Muammar Gadhafi’s son.

According to a cable from 2006 obtained by the whistle-blower website, as the New York Times reported, “all of the (Muammar) Gaddafi children and favorites are supposed to have income streams from the National Oil Company and oil service subsidiaries; and Mariah Carey was paid by Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, son of Col. Gadhafi a whooping $1 million for the four songs she sang at the party on the Caribbean island of St. Barts last year 2009.
But according to the songbird, she was unaware that she was booked to perform a concert for the family of the Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi.
“I’m embarrassed to have participated in that mess”, Carey said.
Seif al-Islam denied the allegation, and blamed the country’s national security adviser, his brother, Muatassim.
Apparently, Mariah Carey is not the only one got involved in such disreputable act. New York Times reported that Gadhafi’s sons spent millions of dollars to get popular singers, and Beyonce and Usher had also find their seats to entertain such horrible clan of the Libyan dictator.
