Fire in Quezon City Leaves 4,000 Homeless Eleven Hurts

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Fire incident that lasted for eight hours had left 11 person injured and 4,000 families homeless.

The fire took place at Barangay Central, Quezon City,Monday.

Preliminary investigation pointed the residence of Antonio Dionido, a two-storey woodshed to be the origin of the fire.

As residents tried to save even few of their important things and belongings, some were injured and got lacerations while others had suffered breathing difficulties.

Fire fighters had difficulties on stopping the fire due to the presence of many woodshed houses and the crowd itself. The fire broke out Monday and was announced under control Tuesday morning.

So far, an estimated 20 million damage of properties was being eyed with almost 600 houses burned to ashes.

The fire in  Quezon City is just one of the four similar incidents happening in Navotas, Malabon and Caloocan in the same week.

In Malabon, as the result of one-hour fire incident 40 houses were devastated by fire. Meanwhile, in Navotas, fire became the instrument of death to 12 persons.

Investigators in Navotas were still conducting more investigations in order to identify the root of the said fire.

Aside from the recorded deaths, fire had been the reason of sufferings for more residents and they’re now on the stage of recovery from the catastrophe.
