Graeme Smith is confident of his team’s preparation

Skipper of South Afica, Graeme Smith

Graeme Smith the captain of prestigious cricketing team like South Africa has in a recent interview to press -said that his South African team is prepared much more better for this year’s cricket world cup as compared to the South Africa side that played the 2007’s edition of ICC World Cup. This world cup will be Graeme Smith’s 2nd world cup as a captain and 3rd as a player. He was also part of that great World Cup semi-final in which South Africa lost just by an inch, they were just THIS far from qualifying for the final for the first time in the history but they just couldn’t made it happen.

Graeme Smith explained that their team didn’t do well during World Cup 2007 because their expectations of winning that world cup so high that they put themselves under immense pressure that they eventually end up exiting world cup in such scenario. Graeme Smith expressed that his team will no longer take pressure during the world cup, they will stay calm, relaxed yet with the aim of reaching to the final at least (as they have never been in to final as well). The bottom line from his speech was that they won’t be hectic and under pressure this time, rather they will tackle any situation with calm set of minds, no matter if its repeat of world cup 99.

The skipper of South African side further said that he has faith in the preparation of his team this time. Even though their side is not as much experienced as the world cup 2007’s team was, but this brand new world cup squad of South Africa has plenty of varieties in it and tremendous amount of options. Whereas back in 2007 they didn’t have much options except just mere experienced players. And Smith believes that his team is much more talented, equipped with skills and p(–foul word(s) removed–)ion. His team will not panic or whatsoever, and handle any kind of situation given to them with extreme calm mind (with great game-play plan and tactics).

He also said that his team was playing with some restricted basic rules and they didn’t go beyond the odds, but this time skipper believes that they will definitely be much more innovative and unpredictable Big-Green Machines.

So bottom line is that there’s a lot of expectations this time from this team, as seeing Australia is not in one of their top-notch performance and South Africa can really take advantage of this situation and might actually do what they haven’t done in past.
