“Microwave Lovers”, is this the right term for the relationship of John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna?
Celebrity couple John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna, amid the breakup rumors, earned a new tag for their relationship – “Microwave Lovers”.
The former Home Sweetie Home co-stars got together as a couple two years ago, almost the same time when the A-list actor took his indefinite leave of absence. For some, they became an ideal couple because though they are poles apart, they found love in each other’s arms.
Their tandem even gained fandom who expressed happiness for them. That gladness even hyped up when it was revealed that they already have their son, Elias Modesto.
However, a few days ago, rumors circulated stating about their alleged separation. Various speculations of the reasons for their breakup also surfaced. A previous report stated that allegedly Ellen could no longer stand the “weirdness” of Lloydie. It was also alleged that they had several fights because the former daring actress wanted to go back to showbiz but the A-list actor won’t allow that to happen.
Amid the breakup rumors, the couple chose to keep their silence however, a source close to Ellen has been consistent in saying that they already separated.
In line with this, entertainment columnist Lolit Solis tagged the couple as “microwave lovers” in her recent article in Pilipino Star Ngayon. The term is being associated to a couple who felt the love so warm at the beginning but they also felt the coldness so sudden.
“Or baka naman kahit noong start pa lang ng kanilang relasyon, hindi naman ganoon katindi ang pagmamahal nila para sa isa’t-isa? Sobra lang sa init sa umpisa pero later on, nawala rin agad. Parang microwave lovers din sila, mainit sa umpisa pero madaling lumamig,” Manay Lolit said.
