The proposal is in line of the Duterte administration’s continuous battle against the illegal substances.

According to the report, the Palace officials have not yet confirmed if the President has given a green light to the proposal of Kho.

However, the fast increasing number of those who surrender from being involved with drugs has caused a problem for various drug rehabilitation centers across the country as they were not prepared to accommodate a large amount of people.

According to the report, there about 700,000 drug dependents to submit themselves and have registered with authorities amid Duterte’s anti-illegal drug campaign but the Philippines has few facilities to treat them.

In a previous report, Duterte met Billionaire Huang Rulun when he visited China. Huang Rulun said that he will fund two 10,000-bed rehabilitation centers for drug addicts. His support for rehabilitation centers strongly contrasts the criticism of Duterte’s war on drugs.

The President shared to the media that Huang offered help “without boasting, without news, without publicity”.
