How will Pres. Duterte spend his first Christmas as the country’s President?
DUTERTE – Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar shared in a radio interview the schedule of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for Christmas.
This Christmas, it is going to be Pres. Duterte’s first Christmas as the chief executive of the Philippines. How will he spend the celebration?
Recently, a Christmas party with the secretaries of the Cabinet and the Office of the President has been hosted by Pres. Duterte according to a recent news report in GMA News Online.
The report also stated that Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar spoke about the schedule of the 71-year-old President.
According to the news report, Andanar expressed in a radio interview that if the schedule will not be changed, Pres. Duterte will be visiting the patients having cancer in Davao City, his hometown which he has served for more than two decades.
Furthermore, Pres. Duterte is also set to open up the doors of his homes to the less fortunate ones in his hometown. The President has been doing this since he was still the mayor of Davao City.
The Presidential Communications Secretary expressed that a Christmas party with his companions in his bailiwick is expected to be joined by Pres. Duterte.

This is going to be the first Christmas of Pres. Duterte as the man who sits on the highest position in the country. Pres. Duterte is the former mayor of Davao City.
Way back in the 2016 presidential election, he went out triumphant in a race with former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, Sen. Grace Poe, former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, and the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
The 71-year-old man took the position by garnering a big part of the votes of the populace. Undeniably, many look up and hope for the ‘change’ promised by Pres. Duterte.
Since then, he has been very vocal on how much he hates illegal drugs. He has promised the Filipino people that he will clean the country from the presence of illegal drugs and as well as crime and corruption.
Lots of illegal drug laboratories have already been discovered since the start of the Duterte Administration. Many drug users and pushers have also surrendered themselves to the authorities after the 71-year-old President has been loud on his warnings to them.
Though it is criticized by some personalities, the President is determined to continue the fight against illegal drugs.
Based on a previous news report, the chief executive is persistent not to step back despite a thick pile of papers containing the names of drug suspects.
