BETH – In England, a 22-year-old woman named Beth Goodier has been tagged as the real-life sleeping beauty for her unusual condition.

There are certain conditions which are really unusual but possible. Sometimes, fantasy stories can be related to real life stories or they could have been made out of a concept of reality.

For a person to sleep for months could appear as unusual but it is possible under certain conditions. Tagged as the real-life sleeping beauty, a 22-year-old woman from England suffers from this condition.

A recent news report in Inquirer entailed about the story of  22-year-old Beth Goodier from Stockport in northwest England who sleeps for months at a time. She was as young as 16 years of age when her parents found it hard to awaken her up. She has slept for six months then.

According to a news report in Metro.co.uk, Beth closes her eyes and sleeps for twenty hours a day and for a couple of hours, she’s in a dream-like trance.

Beth’s mother initially felt scared that a brain tumor could be the cause of the unusual condition of her child yet after several testings, a doctor recalled a similar condition of a colleague.

Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS) or Sleeping Beauty Syndrome which usually occurs to young ones who are at the age of 16 is the diagnosed condition of Beth. The KLS usually lasts for 13 years according to the news report.

England’s real-life sleeping beauty is in a two and a half months of deep-sleep episode as of the present. According to her mother who decided to quit her work so she can give her full attention to her daughter, Beth sleeps 75% of the time.

When she is awake, she uses the time for eating and drinking. She also spends some time with Dan, her boyfriend, and catches up with some friends.
