P1-M Reward For The Arrest Of Dayan: Gone To The Wrong Man?

San Gabriel residents claim that the P1-M reward money for Dayan’s arrest may have been given to the wrong person.

The P1-M reward money for the tip that led to Ronnie Dayan’s arrest may have been given to a wrong person according to some of the people residing in Barangay Lacong in San Gabriel, La Union.

Ronnie Dayan has recently been arrested in the province of La Union. Based on a previous news report, a tip from a farmer led to the arrest of the alleged ‘bagman’ of Sen. Leila De Lima.

It is also reported that an anonymous farmer who was herding his goats when he saw Dayan received a P1-M reward money put up by the the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) for the tip.

The reward money was awarded to the goat farmer on the same day that Dayan is laying down his claims at the Justice Committee.

There was even a picture in a previous report showing that Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, counsel for the VACC, shows the P1-M reward money. In the picture, there was as well the man who covered his face.

However, a recent news report stated Barangay Lacong in San Gabriel, La Union residents expressed that the reward money may have been awarded to the wrong person.

According to the chief of the baranggay, Dominador Lilan, the residents were surprised when the money was given an anonymous goat farmer as it was their neighbor, Juanito Gavina, who first gave the tip to the police authorities.

Furthermore, Lilan spoke to Inquirer through a phone on Tuesday that Gavina feels embarrassed as his neighbors tease him to share the reward money with them but he did not have it.

Lilan also shared that Gavina, who previously had no knowledge that Dayan was being searched by the authorities and who has previously knew Dayan as Dodong, said that the farmer helped Dayan build his house.
