Two Chinese Astronauts Successfully Back On Earth After A Month On Space

The two Chinese astronauts started working on space on October 18 but have finally landed back on Earth on early Friday morning.

HONG KONG – Two Chinese astronauts have finally landed a solid ground after a month of being afloat the Tiangong-2 space laboratory outside the Earth.

Jing Haipeng and Cheng Dong inhabited and worked inside the Tiangong-2 space lab since October 18, which made them a part of the Chinese history for being the first mainland astronaut who have stayed the longest in space.

The re-entry module of the Shenzhou-11 spacecraft detached from the space laboratory before heading home on Thursday and landed on the grasslands of Ulanqab in inner Mongolia around 2.15 p.m. Friday local time (1.15 a.m.).

Jing Haipeng and Cheng Dong inhabited and worked inside the Tiangong-2 space lab since October 18 but landed back on Earth on Friday.

The 50-year-old Jing and the 37-year-old Cheng had set foot the Earth, both in good health, which means that the Chinese space program and its plans were on track.

The Tiangong-2, which literally means “heavenly vessel, was launched on September 15 and had been unmanned until the astronauts arrived on October.
