Manila Police District confirmed that the Deputy commissioner Arturo Lachica of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) was ambushed in Manila on Thursday night.

Deputy commissioner Arturo Lachica of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) was ambushed by gunmen who are riding on a Motorcycle.

He was rushed to a hospital but died soon after.

According to a recent new report of the ABS-CBN news, the incident happened on Thursday night at España Boulevard corner Kundiman, Sampaloc, Manila.

Reports said, they were ambushed and shot by unidentified assailants, onboard a motorcycle, struck at the corner of Espana and Kundiman St.

Supt. Aquino Olivar, head of the Sampaloc police station, confirmed to the media that Lachica, who was shot while his car was traveling along España Boulevard, was declared dead on arrival by physicians at United Doctors Medical Center.

Lachica narrated that Deputy commissioner Arturo Lachica was leading home inside a black sedan and was seated at the back. While his bodyguard was beside the driver.

 “The gunman, on his motorcycle, slowly came up from behind (Lachica’s) car, and fired at him,” Olivar said.
