China had been criticized for taking away American jobs but now that Donald Trump has won the Presidential race, things might change direction.
BEIJING, China – Republican standard bearer Donald Trump’s victory in the recent race for the White House opens another door for the strengthening of the bilateral ties between the United States of America and China.
After Trump was declared the new American President-elect, China said that it is willing to work with the new Executive Officer of the United States to ensure the sound and steady development of bilateral ties between both countries.
China, through its Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang, made the statement at a regular press conference on Wednesday, November 9, as Trump moved to victory for the seat at the White House.
China had been criticized for taking away American jobs but as the declaration of Trump’s victory neared, it cautiously reacted, saying it is willing to work with the American government toward the benefit of the people of two countries.
In return, Kang said, that China is hoping that the new US government, in return, would work with their country to achieve a steady and sound development of bilateral ties for the benefit of both countries and the whole world.
Before the US Presidential elections, many expressed their apprehensions about Trump being the next American president after he branded China as a ‘currency manipulator’ and promised tough measures against Chinese imports, sold at a cheap price, entering the US.
Trump had previously said that the American people are living through what he called as the “greatest jobs theft” in the history of the world because US companies were moving out jobs to countries like China, Singapore and Mexico.
