Bongbong, Imee Joins Duterte – Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his sister Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos joined President Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine delegation in Beijing, China.

During a meet-up with the Filipino workers in the country at a hotel in Wangfujing Street, Imee Marcos joined the Filipino group led by Duterte.

Bongbong Marcos, who has filed an electoral case against Vice President Leni Robredo, has been teased by the President saying that he is the “potential” vice president of the Philippines.

“Bongbong… Kung manalo siya sa protest niya, baka bago ang ating bise presidente,” said Duterte as quoted in a report by GMA News.

As the crowd was amused with the President’s statement, Bongbong Marcos was then asked of his thoughts regarding the teasing of the President.

“Well no, he is just behaving as a friend and I am very lucky that I have a friend in the president,” Bongbong said.

The report added that during the May 2016 Elections, Bongbong Marcos and now-VP Leni Robredo was a slim margin of 260,000 votes between them.

President Duterte has been accompanied by different government officials which include his running mate for the Vice Presidential race, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

In the report, it said that Presidente Duterte ‘acknowledged’ his alliance with the Marcos family, one reason why he distanced himself with Robredo, a candidate of the Liberal Party, a political party which has “bad b10od” with the Marcoses.

Before, Duterte has not given any responsibility to his Vice President, but later, he appointed Robredo to head the housing council of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, there are still issues pertaining the transfer of the remains of the former President, the late Ferdinand Marcos, father of Bongbong and Imee.

It has been reported that Duterte is supporting the transfer of Marcos to the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
