September Brings Philippine Peso Its Largest Loss

The month of September has been a challenge to the Philippine currency.

September has come along with it the largest monthly loss in the currency of the Philippines in more than a decade.

A recent report in ABS-CBN News entailed that the ninth month of the year has made the Philippine peso go through its largest loss. It dropped to 0.4 percent which was the lowest point since September of 2009. The drop that it had caused the Philippine currency is equal to P48.50 per dollar.

Based on the report, concerns were raised that the policies and rules of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte might discourage foreign investors from investing the country.

In a previous report from the same site, Pres. Duterte affirmed his desire for the Philippines to stand on its own and not to depend on other nations.

“Please understand. This republic will rise. This Republic of the Philippines will continue to be great,” he said to the Marines in Fort Bonifacio.
