The Department of National Defense (DND) identified some parts of Mindanao which are favorite hiding place of the Abu Sayyaf Group.
Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana identified some parts of Mindanao which can be considered as the favorite “hiding place” of the bandit group Abu Sayyaf.
According to Sec. Lorenzana, Tawi-tawi, Sulu and Basilan are the places dubbed as favorite hiding place of the ASG.
In the said locations, the DND official said, are where they believe the bandits hid their three new abductees who they captured while on the seas of Sabbah.
Sec. Lorenzana said that despite the victims were taken captives on a Malaysian sea, the ASG chose to hide them inside the Philippine territory, particularly on theiy hiding place, because it is easier to keep them here than in Malaysia.
However, Lorenzana assured, that the military men in the said areas are ready to address the security concerns.
As of now, the military intelligence and naval operations in Tawi-tawi are in progress to monitor the presence of the abductors and their three captives who are all Malaysian nationals.
