On Wednesday, Diaz and Deca Homes 8990, a housing company, signed a memorandum of agreement granting the Filipina weightlifter a house and lot.

Present at the MOA signing are officials from the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Philippine Sports Commission, and Deca officials.

Diaz was given a symbolic key for her reward, a sign that she is now the homeowner.

The house and lot are among the latest perks for the Pinay other than receiving P5 million from the government as mandated by the law.

President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City on the day of the arrival of the athlete announced that he will add P2 million to the prize.

When Diaz visited the Senate, she also received an undisclosed amount from Sen. Manny Pacquiao who promised to reward the Pinay, who also hails from Mindanao, like him.

Days after she went home from Brazil, Diaz was promoted in rank at the Philippine Air Force (PAF) where she was promoted to Airwoman 1st Class from Airwoman 2nd Class.

Diaz and her fellow Olympian Airman 2nd Class Nestor Colonia were also given plaques for their achievements at the 2016 Rio Olympics which ended on August 21. Diaz in turn gave them a replica of her silver medal, to the PAF and this will be kept in the PAF museum.

Last week, budget airline company AirAsia also announced it is giving Diaz and other Olympic silver medalists from ASEAN member nations free flights for five years.

Diaz saved the Philippines from 20-year drought in the Olympics. In a press conference on the day of her arrival where she was given a hero’s welcome, she said she does not plan to retire since she aims to get a gold medal in 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
