President Duterte Hopes a Formal Talk With China
President Duterte hopes a formal talk with China regarding their territorial claims to the West Philippines Sea.
On Wednesday (August 24, 2016) the president warns China against their reckoning without showing a resolution. The case filed by the Philippines against the territorial claims of China on the disputed water won last month. It is declared that China has no legal basis regarding their claims and Philippines claim the victory.
The president signaled on Wednesday that he was preparing for a confrontational approach. Previously he said that he don’t want to make an aggressive response against it rivals. He already sent an envoy to avoid the tension that will happen.
“We will not raise hell now because of the judgement but there will come a time that we will have to do some reckoning about this,” Duterte said in a speech to soldiers at a military camp quoted by ABS-CBN.
