Dela Rosa calls on drug users and pushers to burn the houses of drug lords
The policemen of Police Regional Office 18 welcomed the chief of the Philippine National Police, Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, in Bacolod City on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Dela Rosa led the celebration of 115th anniversary of police service and at the same time, he installed the new regional director of PRO-18.
In a turn-over of command ceremony held at Pavillion Hotel, Police Chief Superintendent Renato “Rene” Gumban officially assumed as the director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Negros Island Region.
He succeeded Chief Superintendent Conrado Capa who will retire from the police service on August 29, ending a nine-month stint as PRO-18 director when he retires.
Before the turn-over-of-command ceremony and retirement ceremony, dela Rosa audienced drug users and pushers who surrendered to Bacolod City police stations. He urged them to to vent their anger towards drug lords who make the poor become poorer.
“Kilala ‘nyo sino drug lord dito, di ba? Puntahan ‘nyo….Buhusan ninyo ng gasolina ‘yung bahay, sindihan ninyo. Pakita ninyo na galit kayo sa kanila,” Dela Rosa said on Thursday, August 25, to an audience of drug users and pushers who have surrendered to authorities.

During the press conference at L’Fisher Hotel, dela Rosa said Negrenses can expect the names of the narco-politicians and narco-cops in Negros Island Region the next time President Rodrigo Duterte name them in public.
“Meron talagang mga ganyan (narco-cop or narco-politician). Hindi natin maiiwasan ‘yan. Pero bantayan niyo nalang. Ayokong pangunahan si president (Duterte)”.
He gave the PRO-18 a passing rate of 7 on campaign against illegal drugs.
Gumban, is the second regional director of PRO-18 after its establishment on November 2015.
Before his assignment to PRO-Negros Island, Gumban was the deputy regional director for administration of PRO-Mimaropa Region.
He is a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1985 and had served as director of Iloilo and Capiz Provincial Police Offices.
Dela Rosa was also the one who ordered his assignment in Negros Island Region.
