OSG: ‘President Duterte is not attempting to rewrite our nation’s history’

OSG defended Pres. Duterte on his decision to allow the interment of Marcos Sr. at LNMB.

OSG – The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) defended Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte regarding his decision to allow the interment of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at Libingan ng mga Bayani.

The issue with regards to the interment of Marcos Sr. at the resting ground of heroes and presidents revolve around his being a hero or not.

In a recent report in Inquirer, the Office of the Solicitor General defended that it does not mean that those interned at Libingan ng mga Bayani are the only ones who will be deemed as ‘heroes’.

The office also further emphasized in a comment submitted to the High Court that the right of the President to allow the interment of Marcos Sr. at LNMB as it was justified that he was a former President, a Medal of Valor awardee, a member of the retired military personnel and a war veteran.
