DOT opens into making surfing one of the tourism products in the Philippines.
DOT – The Department of Tourism has already started the move to make surfing as one of the things that would keep tourists coming back for more vacations in the country.
This move is equally beneficial to the citizens and the country as well. In setting surfing as one of the PH tourism products, the DOT has already taken initiatives on the promotion of the water sport as reported in Phil Star Global.
To support the promotion of surfing in the country, the government agency intended for tourism of the Philippines has come up with an accreditation program.
To realized the accrediting of resorts that offer surfing lessons, surfing camps in across the country, and all the other facilities related to the promotion of surfing in PH, there are certain requirements that were set by the DOT.
First-aid kits that will be used during emergency and as well as means of communication should be available to be accredited. Further, a surfing camp also needs to have certified instructors in the said field who are experts in surfing.
