PH-China Tension shouldn’t drag ASEAN countries in the dispute.
PH-China Tension in the dispute of the South China Sea should not drag the ASEAN. Cambodia urged the ASEAN members to avoid using words that would escalate the tension between China and Philippines.
According to a report, Cambodia declared that the dispute is between China and the Philippines and not ASEAN and China. The Foreign Minister of the country urged the South East Asian to avoid using of word that would escalate the tension between China and the Philippines.
Other ASEAN members like Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam all have rival claims against China. All parties urged the China to abide the international order.
The territorial dispute in the South China Sea have been the biggest issue during the ASEAN meeting in the Vientiane. According to a report, the meeting was hosted by the US Secretary of State John Kerry and foreigner minister Wang Yi.
