‘Worst’ Words President Duterte Have Said So Far

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte will be taking the oath of the highest government position in the Philippines on June 30, 2016.

He has been known for his ‘hard’ words and mouth during the campaign period and even today. But, his supporters have been defending his words and explains to the critics their opinion.

Though his might be really famous among the general public, his relationship with the press is just not that smooth.

Last November 2015, he had an issue regarding a statement mentioning the Pope in a “joke”. “Gusto kong tawagan, ‘Pope putang 1na ka, umuwi ka na. ‘Wag ka nang magbisita dito.’” This is regarding the traffic caused by the visit of the Pope in the Philippines.

People have raised their eyebrows and reacted on the statement of Duterte since the Philippines is among the Catholic countries in Asia. In previous reports, he already wrote an apology to the Pope and has been forgiven.

Another thing is when Duterte joked about a rap3 victim named Jacqueline Hamill indicating the mayor [Duterte] must be the “first in line” to do such.

Many have reacted saying that it is being insensitive. But still, his supporters have defended him still and even said that he is a man of action. Duterte was reported to have had an agreement with Caritas Davao for him to be “fined” P1, 000 for every time Bishops would catch him cursing in public.

And the last issue regarding “Duterte-ism” is the whistling he did during an interview made the beautiful reporter Mariz Umali during a press conference.

Duterte was known in Davao to be promoting women’s rights. He even pushed the Magna Carta of Women in Davao. For Umali, she found it improper. But, Duterte insisted that there’s nothing wrong with it.

But, despite everything, Duterte’s supporters are still hopeful of the change he promised during his campaigns.
