Bagyong Ambo Weakened Into LPA on Monday (June 27)

The first-ever typhoon that hits the Philippines for the year 2016 Bagyong Ambo has weakened into a Low Pressure Area (LPA) early Monday after it made landfall over Dinalungan, Aurora on early Monday.

Based upon the latest weather forecast of PAGASA, as of 2:00 AM the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was last spotted over Quirino Province.

All Tropical Cyclone Warning signals were lifted by the weather bureau but the LPA will still bring occasional moderate to heavy rain which may trigger flashfloods and landslides over Northern and Central Luzon and the provinces of Rizal and Quezon.

The weather bureau, PAGASA also noted that light to moderate rain is expected over Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas.

Class suspensions due to Bagyong Ambo or the LPA will be announced by respective Local Government Units (LGUs), today, June 27, 2016.

The first-ever cyclone this year 2016 brought moderate to heavy rains during the two days as it hits Luzon, the weather bureau said.

Tropical Depression “Ambo,” packing winds of 45 kilometers, made landfall in Aurora early Monday and move west across Luzon until early Tuesday.
