Kobe Bryant Will Return to Manila for “Mamba Mentality Tour”

Basketball legend and future NBA Hall of Fame awardee, Kobe Bryant will once again visit the Philippines particularly in Metro Manila for a meet and greet with his Filipino fans. The return visit of Kobe Bryant in Manila was announced by the world’s leading sneaker brand Nike. The visit of the LA Lakers superstar is scheduled on June 25-26, 2016.

The 37-year-old Kobe Bryant will be featured by Nike on their highly anticipated Philippine tour dubbed “Mamba Mentality Tour.” Bryant is often called in the NBA while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers as the “Black Mamba.”

It will be the first visit of the two-time Finals MVP and the 2008 NBA Season’s MVP since retiring from the National Basketball Association (NBA) last April with a sensational 60-point output against the Utah Jazz.

In an official statement by Nike stated that “Mamba Mentality is a philosophy derived from Kobe’s approach to the game, and his aspirations of chasing perfection through hard work, resilience and passion in every aspect of life on and off the court,” Nike said in a press statement.

Aside from the meet and greet with Kobe, he will also hold a “Kobe Academy” clinic on June 26 with selected players who “have the skills and Mamba Mentality mindset.” According to Nike Philippines Filipino players who are invited to join the Kobe Academy Pre-Camp on June 22-24 to qualify for the Kobe Academy.

Some of the highlights of Kobe Bryant in the NBA includes winning the NBA Championship five times, he also won the season’s MVP award during the year 2008 and he won also as NBA Finals MVP in 2009 and 2010. Kobe played for 20 years in the NBA with only one team, the Los Angeles Lakers using two numbers 8 and 24.
