Trailblazers Star Damian Lillard to Visit the Philippines Anew

One of NBA’s most popular point guard and the main man of Portland Trailblazers Damian Lillard will return to the Philippines via the Adidas Summer Tours which will be held this coming June 14, 2016. Damian Lillard power his team to the second round of the NBA playoffs despite being the only starter left from the Blazers previous season, will impart his knowledge anew to the Filipino fans.

The 25-year-old Damian Lillard released the following statement to the press on his highly anticipated visit to the Philippines “My approach to basketball has always been this; you can only get out of the game what you put in – and that’s what Take on Summer is all about,”

“That’s the mentality I bring to my training and being able to share that attitude overseas to fans and players is an honor. “I’m excited to get back to China, Taiwan and the Philippines to spend time with some of the best hoops fans in the world,” he added.

The 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year awardee will also visit Beijing China from June 9-10, Chengdu, China on June 11-12, Taipei on June 13 before flying to Manila. This is not the only time that Lillard visited the Philippines, he also participated in the “Last Homestand” a year ago.

According to the organizers of the Damian Lillard event in Manila, fans attending the “Take on Summer” tours will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and interact with Damian Lillard at the exclusive event including basketball demonstrations and games, in-store appearances, social media campaigns and more.

The organizers of the “Take on Summer” tours also featured Charlotte Hornets’ Asian-American star Jeremy Lin and Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose but they will not visit Manila. They will be Damian Lillard on his visit to Taiwan and China.

The Portland Trailblazers star is coming off an outstanding season where he posted career highs in points (25.1) and assists (6.8). With the leadership of Lillard, the Trailblazers was widely believed to be one of the bottom teams in the Western Conference to the second round of the NBA Playoffs in one of the season’s biggest stories.
