The incoming president of the Republic of the Philippines invited some of the best and brightest police officers to be part of his security detail and one of the most recognizable figure is no other than the former beauty queen, Police Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu. The former Miss Philippines-Earth will be part of the security detail of the President.
Police Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu, along with several lady police officers, met with the Davao City mayor as she was seen shaking hands and exchanging words with Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
The beauty queen police officer is a half-Filipina, Half-Romanian, she made headlines during the past years after she joined one of the country’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Philippines-Earth wherein she finished as a semifinalist or at 15th place.
During previous interview with the elite police officer, Police Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu admitted that it has always been her dream to win Miss Earth. However, she set this aside and chose to enter the Philippine National Police Academy shortly after graduating from Saint Louis University in Baguio City with a bachelor’s degree in tourism management.
The future security detail of the 71-year-old Mayor Rody Duterte who will assumed his office as Philippine President this coming June 30, she joined the country’s police force in 2014. Before embarking on her Miss Philippines-Earth journey, Deliu was the chief supply officer at the PNP Regional Public Safety Battalion, formerly called the Regional Mobile Group.
“Kami po yung unit na…nagco-combat operations. Kami po ‘yung supporting unit. And under din po sa amin yung SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposa), ‘yung sa mga bombings. Anything that has to do with rescue, kami pong unit yun,” she explained.
