The 52-year-old critically acclaimed actress has bagged a Best Actress Award for her entry, “Ma’ Rosa” which is directed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza.

Jaclyn Jose shared in an interview Inquirer.net why Filipinos must watch the independent movie. She is hoping that the movie will make an impact in our country and overseas.

Asked about Duterte, Jaclyn Jose said that she is looking forward that the presumptive president will stick to his platform such as eradicating crimes in the country particularly capture those who use or aid in selling of harmful substance.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview of Brillante Mendoza, he told Agence France-Presse via a report published by ABS-CBN News that the incoming president must cling to his promise to “change” the country.

“I am hopeful things will change for the better. That’s my goal, that’s why I do these kinds of films,” the notable director stated. “He (Duterte) will do whatever he has to do as the new president and I will do what I do as an artist,” he added.
