Presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte is set to appoint 400 new officials in top positions under the incoming administration, according to his spokesperson, Peter Laviña.

In an interview with Radyo DZMM, Laviña said that the selection process is very crucial as these people will be tasked to help Duterte’s vow of true change.

“Malaki ang hamon para sa darating na administrasyon lalong lalo nang tama na kailangan ng paradigm shift — pagbabago sa ating sarili bago tayo maging effective sa pagbabago sa ating lipunan,” he was quoted saying.

Their camp also guarantees that there will be transparency and democratic process in selecting the said 400 officials.

Aside from that, he also guarantees that the job fair there will be no influence of peddling as Duterte have no “baggage of vested interest” because he refused donations from big businessmen during the campaign.

Among the 400 positions are for cabinet secretaries, undersecretaries, assistant secretaries which are also part of the 6,000 jobs that will be left open by the outgoing administration.

Meanwhile, Duterte will sworn as the 16th president of the Philippines on June 30. He will also lead a ceremony to turn over the reigns to his daughter, incoming Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Duterte is among the longest-serving mayors in the country. He has hold the mayoral position for more than two decades already. He announced his candidacy in November 15 last year.

He became infamous of his statement that he will make a genuine change in the country, including curbing unlawful acts and corruption in just 3 to 6 months.
