Senator Grace Poe concedes to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Monday evening, May 9, after Duterte showed a huge part the unofficial results.

According to the partial and unofficial results of the votes, Poe fell from the 2nd to the 3rd place even from the unofficial results Monday night.

She’s not too far behind the now second-place Manuel Roxas II.

According to a report on GMA News, Poe gave a statement as she ended her presidential bid to Duterte.

“Ako si Grace Poe at naging kandidato sa pagka pangulo, nagbibigay daan kay Rodrigo Duterte na siyang maliwanag na nangunguna sa kasalukuyang bilangan at napili ng nakararami,” Poe said quoted in the report during a press conference in Quezon City.

She even congratulated Duterte who’s been leading the results. She even promised to join in the healing, unity, and progress of the country.

“Binabati ko si Mayor Rodrigo Duterte at ipinapangako ko ang aking pakikiisa sa paghilom ng ating bayan at pakikiisa ng ating mga kababayan tungo sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating bansa,” she added.

Poe has been known to have disqualification attempt because of her citizenship but, she added that she will sleep with a clean conscience because she ran a clear campaign and did her best.

The senator said in the report that she and Mayor Duterte had a good conversation and said that Duterte is willing to work to for anyone who will contribute for the betterment of the country.

Duterte said that he accepted the concession of Poe and promised to support her advocacies.

The inch-near new President of the Philippines even said in a report by ABS-CBN to consider him as Poe’s servant.

He even added that he will personally go to the office of Poe in the Senate if Poe would call him.
