Rody Duterte Supports NPA

Presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte supports NPA as he called out “Mabuhay ang NPA” [Hail NPA] at the release of two soldiers of the government in Compostela Valley.

In many moments, Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte would mention the communist rebels, especially in campaigns sorties.

In a video, Duterte has been recorded saying that he wants all to be members of the NPA. He said this in Filipino.

“Gusto ko mag-NPA na lang tayo,” the Mayor said.

In another incident, Duterte even cheered for the communist group saying, “Mabuhay ang NPA, and I will not take that back.” According to Inquirer, this is what Duterte said on a television program called “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa.”

Duterte said, “I salute you because you handed over the captives.”

This is regarding how the rebels treated the soldiers.

Two soldiers were turned back to the hands of Duterte as he said the negotiations should be done with the National Democratic Front (NDF), the group that talks together with the government for peace negotiations.

Recently, on April 25, five policemen were released by the communist group again, to Rody Duterte who were abducted on April 16.

In a report in GMA News, Duterte personally talked with the NPA and convinced them not to harm the policemen. No further details were heard from the Mayor.

But, the Malacañang Palace is having concerns regarding this happenings if the Davao City Mayor Rodrigo  Duterte supports NPA or if he really has ties with the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).

Rodrigo Duterte currently tops the presidential candidates in terms of pre-election surveys by Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia.
