Bongbong Marcos confirms INC endorsement

Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. confirmed the endorsement of influential bloc-voting religious group, Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).

The vice presidential front-runner told Philstar.com and other members of the press that he was informed by the INC’s decision to support him in the upcoming election last Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

The religious sect also supported Bongbong’s father, late President Ferdinand Marcos on his candidacy which he cited their family’s connection with the spiritual group as “long relationship”.

Aside from Bongbong Marcos, INC had endorsed senatorial candidates; Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez and former MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino.

Iglesia Ni Cristo which is headed by executive minister Ka Eduardo Manalo is yet to endorse a presidential bet .

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte,  Sen. Grace Poe, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Mar Roxas are among the presidential candidates who met the religious sect to woe support for the upcoming national poll on May 9, 2016.

During their respective courtesy call with the Iglesia Ni Cristo, they discuss their platforms and programs if ever they will be hailed as President of the Philippines.

Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago who landed last in almost all presidential survey conducted by Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia has yet to meet the INC for a courtesy call.
