The country’s most popular movie outfit, Star Cinema announced that one of their most prolific actor John Lloyd Cruz will be teaming up for the very first time with box office actress Jennylyn Mercado for a movie project. The announcement was revealed by Star Cinema’s advertising and promotions manager Mico Del Rosario on Instagram.
In an Instagram post Del Rosario shared a photo of John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado seated across each other while smiling for the cameras.
The Star Cinema executive also added a caption that says: “ATM: shooting now: John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado for their upcoming movie under Star Cinema.”
A few minutes after the Instagram post, netizens went frenzy with the new development in the actor’s career, who is also considered as one of the Philippines most bankable actor, John Lloyd Cruz.
There are also expectations that Jennylyn Mercado plans to transfer to ABS-CBN, but Del Rosario clarified that Jennylyn Mercado’s pairing with John Lloyd Cruz was only for a film project with the Kapamilya Channel’s movie outfit.
The last movie of John Lloyd Cruz for Star Cinema titled “A Second Chance,” broke box office records while Jennylyn Mercado also starred in the MMFF entry movie “Walang Forever,” with another Kapamilya actor, Jericho Rosales.
Mico Del Rosario also revealed that the still-untitled movie project of John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado will be directed by award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina and slated to be released in theathers this coming March. No other details about the project have been disclosed.
