MMDA Suspends Metro Manila’s Number Coding Scheme on Christmas Holidays 2015

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority suspends the usual number coding scheme in Metro Manila in select dates during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In an advisory released on Wednesday, MMDA stated “The Number Coding Scheme is lifted in all cities and municipality in Metro Manila on Dec. 24, 25, 30 & 31,” MMDA said in an advisory.

Number coding has been implemented in Metro Manila in a bid to ease traffic in the heavily congested streets of the metropolis.

Based upon the number coding scheme of the MMDA, the plate numbers of every vehicle will determine in what particular date they will not be allowed to travel in various places of the National Capital Region.
