Rebisco Owner & Manny Pacquiao Tops the 2014 List of Highest Taxpayers

The owner and founder of Rebisco Biscuit Corporation, businessman Jacinto Ng and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao tops the list of the highest individual taxpayers in the Philippines during the year 2014 according to the list released by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The BIR already released the list of the Top 500 Individual Taxpayers in 2014 featuring some of the country’s individual taxpayers who contributed to national government’s tax collections.

Rebisco owner and founder Jacinto Ng paid a total of P280.1 million in taxes while the Pinoy boxing icon Manny Pacquiao paid a total of P210.3 million earning both individuals as the top taxpayers in the Philippines for 2014.

The Rebisco owner is also considered as the 36th richest in the Philippines based upon the estimates by Forbes magazine while Manny Pacquiao is also considered as the second highest paid athlete in the world this year with a total earnings of $62 million.

Aside from the Rebisco founder and Manny Pacquiao, notable personalities in the list of the top taxpayers in 2014 were presidential sister Kris Aquino who paid P54.5 million in taxes and San Miguel Corporation Chief Executive Officer Ramon Ang ranked at No. 9 with P51 million in taxes.
