Mayor Duterte to Push for Federal System of Government & Reveals Platform of Government

The tough-talking mayor of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte vowed during the official announcement of his national party, PDP-Laban, that he will push for a federal system of government and reveals some of his plans once elected as president as he revealed his platform of government.

According to Mayor Duterte, the Federal System of Government would bring “true peace” in Mindanao. Mayor Duterte also gave a preview of his platform of government Monday during what was supposed to be his proclamation as the official presidential candidate of PDP-Laban in the highly anticipated 2016 national elections.

The official proclamation of PDP-Laban’s national candidate event was held on Monday at Century Park Hotel owned business tycoon Lucio Tan, one of the richest Filipino in the country.

Aside from Mayor Duterte, also declared during the announcement was Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, the vice presidential running mate of the Davao City Mayor. PDP-Laban officially endorsed Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano – a member of the Nacionalista Party of Manuel Villar Jr. but who is running for Vice President next year as an independent.

Mayor Duterte also urged his party mates to support Sen. Cayetano that if they don’t vote for Cayetano, they should not vote for him as their president.

The popular presidential candidate Mayor Duterte also revealed his plans talk with the separatist movement of the country, such as the MILF and the CPP NPA. He also revealed that one of the reason why he introduced the Federal form of government as he expressed doubts about the passage in Congress of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law for Muslim Mindanao.
