“A Second Chance” Movie Earned P18 Million During it’s Theatrical Debut

The highly anticipated debut of the latest Star Cinema movie titled “A Second Chance,” already earned a whooping P18 million in box office earnings as early as 5:00 PM during its debut in various cinemas nationwide. The movie is off to a great start at the Philippine box office despite stiff competition from Hollywood’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2.”

The producer of the latest John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo movie, Star Cinema confirmed to the media that the story of Basha and Popoy made a huge impact among Filipino viewers who trooped to various cinemas from different parts of the country.

The P18 million earning of the movie “A Second Chance” is already higher compared to the P15-million debut of the 2015 box office hit “The Breakup Playlist” and “The Love Affair.” Both Star Cinema movies debuted with P15-million and later grossed more than P300-million during its theatrical run.

The movie “A Second Chance” is under the direction of veteran director Cathy Garcia-Molina. The movie revisits the lives of Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) as they traverse the highs and lows of married life. It also stars Dimples Romana, James Blanco, Bea Saw, Janus del Prado, and Ahron Villena.

According to Star Cinema’s executive Mico Del Rosario, the film “A Second Chance” is now showing in more than 250 cinemas nationwide.
