COMELEC Announced Numbers of Registered Voters Nationwide

The Commission on Elections announced the official numbers of registered voters for the upcoming national elections. According to COMELEC some 54.6 million individuals have registered for the May 2015 local and national polls.

The figures was released based on the preliminary reports submitted to the main office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Chairman Andres Bautista said.

The COMELEC Chairman noted that the numbers exceeded their target of 53 million to 54 millions voters for the May 2016 elections.

The poll body revealed the highest concentration of voters such as 4A with 7,630,180 votes; followed by National Capital Region with 6,252,132 votes; Region 3 with 6,075,218 votes; Region 6 with 4,425,224 votes; Region 7 with 4,414,255 votes and Region 5 with 3,115,719 votes.

COMELEC Chairman Andres Bautista clarified that the figures will likely go down because the lists will have to go through the Election Registration Board (ERB), which looks into petitions for disqualification filed against voters.
