The Metro Rail Transit traversing the main thoroughfares of the country, EDSA, became a hot topic on social media after a viral video inside a train showing passengers using their umbrellas when it began to “rain” inside their coach.
The viral video was originally posted by a certain Queenie Marino on Twitter. Based upon the video, a total of three umbrellas were unfurled while inside the coach of the MRT train.
Although there is no clear explanations from the video uploader about the incident, the MRT general manager Roman Buenafe explained that it wasn’t rain but a blocked air conditioning drain that caused the shower.
For the past few weeks, the Mass Transit System in Metro Manila has long been plagued by a dire lack of trains and frequent breakdowns. According to the National Government and the Department of Transportation and Communication, they are trying their best to fixed the MRT problems.
