A young Filipino-American drummer named Alexey Damian Poblete was selected by world-renowned host for her New Girl Power Campaign which put the Fil-Am as the only Filipino included in the group. The 12-year-old Alexey Damian Poblete is a drum prodigy and her talents working the drums has grabbed international media attentions.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Balitang Amerika, the young drummer prodigy revealed the she was nervous during her first meeting with Ellen DeGeneres. She was quoted as saying “”I was nervous because it’s Ellen, and I am a fan of hers so of course, I was like frozen. But I was trying to keep cool,” said Alexey.
According to Alexey, meeting with her idol Ellen DeGeneres is not only a dream come true, but she was able to work with the popular TV host. She revealed that she even taught Ellen how to play drums with just a simple beat.
The Fil-Am drummer Alexey Damian Poblete will be one of the member of the new girl empowerment campaign. Her face will be featured in billboards across the United States as well as international magazines worldwide.
The drummer is now busy with her acting cl(–foul word(s) removed–) and is scheduled to visit the Philippines for the Dutdutan Tattoo Convention at the World Trade Center on September 25, 2015.
