SAF 44 Widow Reacts on VP Binay’s ‘True’ SONA: ‘Huwag Niyo Kaming Gamitin’

On his ‘true’ State of the Nation Adress, Vice President Jejomar Binay lauded the Special Action Force (SAF) troopers killed in the ill-fated Mamasapano clash, however one of the widows appealed to politicians not to use the death of the 44 officers for personal gains.

Binay on Monday castigated President Benigno Aquino III for leaving the issue on the fallen 44 out of his SONA.

“Tumulong na lang po siya makamit naming ang hustisya, huwag lang puro salita,” Rachel Sumbilla, widow of PO3 John Lloyd Sumbilla, said referring to vice president.

Binay at the end of his ‘True’ SONA saluted the fallen 44.

Mrs. Sumbilla also said she expects more tributes for the 44 killed officers especially that the 2016 elections draw near.

She also noted that no politician should take credit for the benefits they have received because those were part of their rights after the death of their loved ones.

Christine Kiangan, widow of PO2 Noble Kiangan, also reacted saying the SAF 44 should not be used in politics.

Binay in his speech criticized Pres.Aquino for not even mentioning the slain 44 offciers in his SONA.

Buti pa [ang] hairstylist at fashion designer, kasama sa mahabang listahan ng pinasalamatan,” Binay said at the beginning of his address.
