Following the escalator incident last week of a young mother pulled into an escalator while saving her two-year-old son to safety, another incident was caught by CCTV— this time involving a cleaner.
An investigation has been launched after a cleaner was horrifically injured when an escalator crushed his foot, leading to his lower leg being amputated.
The footage shows the 35-year-old cleaner trapped while cleaning the escalator in a mall in Shanghai.
The metal panels gave way trapping his lower left leg.

The doctor said they amputated his left calf to prevent the situation from getting worst.
As the investigation developed, it is being claimed that the cleaning violated operator regulations by not correctly shutting down the equipment.
The recent incident was the third escalator mishap that occurred within the month as caught by the installed cameras.
