In an interview with dzMM, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas was quoted as saying “Magsisimula na po ang aking pag-turnover ng mga tungkulin ko bilang DILG at sa darating na mga araw ay ipopormal na natin ito,” he said in a radio dzMM interview.

The President of the Republic of the Philippines Pres. Benigno Aquino III already endorsed Mar Roxas as the administration party’s standard bearer for 2016 last Friday.

Some critics of the DILG Secretary have been urging him to resign from the cabinet so he won’t be able to use government resources in his presidential campaign.

According to the administration party’s standard-bearer, Sec. Mar Roxas he pointed out that despite his background in business, he has always worked on dismantling monopolies and fighting abusive practices.

The former Vice Presidential candidate in the 2010 election, said that he had worked hard for the passage of the Passenger Bill of Rights, fought pre-need companies that failed to honor its agreements and even sought to lower drug prices when he was still the Department of Trade and Industry secretary.

Some critics also stated in various news articles that the President’s endorsement is no guarantee Mar Roxas will win next year’s polls.
