The one-month toll-free for the MCX was announced by Ayala Corp. chief executive officer Jaime Zobel de Ayala who noted that motorists would enjoy free use of the road for a full month, which also drew some laughter from the audience including the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The P2-billion PPP Project, considered as one of the largest in the history of the present administration showcased the four-kilometer, four-lane road as the first infrastructure project auctioned off by the Aquino administration under the public-private partnership framework.

According to the Aquino administration the MCX Project went to the Ayala Conglomerate, one of the largest company in the Philippines during the year 2011 but the project faced delays mainly due to external factors.

The Aquino administration stated that once the project will be fully completed, it will decongest traffic in Cavite, Las Pinas and Muntinlupa and will surely reduce travel time by an average of 45 minutes from Daang Hari to Alabang interchange.
