VP Binay Sues P200M Damage against Senators, Witnesses, Ombudsman

For the consecutive attacks he received earlier, it’s time for Vice-president Jejomar Binay to fight legally against foes.

The vice president has filed on Monday a P200 million damage suit against two senators, witnesses and Ombudsman Conchicta Carpio Morales for alleged damaging and prejudicial statements against him.

Atty. Claro Certeza filed a complaint targeting senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Alan Peter Cayetano, Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice, former Makati Vice-Mayor Ernesto Mercado, former Markati Official Mario Hechanova, former Makati barangay official Renato Bondal, Nicolas Enciso, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr, Insurance Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc, Securities and Exchange Commission chief Teresita J. Herbosa, Presidential Management Staff head Julia Abad, Ombudsman Morales, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The Makati City regional trial court received the case filed by Binay’s camp.

Binay has indicted his enemies for mounting a slur campaign trying to pull him down for the 2016 presidential election.

The tirade against Binay started when the corruption allegations broke out including the construction of Makati City building projects among many.
