The legal counsel of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Atty. Salvador Panelo revealed during an interview with ANC that the Mayor will run for President of the Republic of the Philippines based upon his body language.

Atty. Panelo stated that although Mayor Duterte already said that he has no desire to run for President despite the increasing popularity and strong showing in pre-election surveys, the lawyer believes that Mayor Duterte will run for President in 2016.
There is a contradiction between Duterte’s statements that he is not running while also explaining what he would do if he is president.
“I think there will come a time when he will be confronted with the reality, because of the clamor for him to run, that he has an appointment with destiny and a date with history,” he said.
If Mayor Duterte runs for President of the Philippines, he would likely run under the PDP-Laban.
