June Mar Fajardo Wins Second Straight PBA MVP Award (2015 Leo Awards Winners)

Popular Cebuano basketball star June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beer won his second straight PBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award during the 2015 LEO Awards on Friday night, July 17, 2015. The 6’11” Cebuano big man got the MVP award plus three other individual awards during the 2015 PBA season awarding ceremonies.

June Mar Fajardo bested other contenders for the 2015 PBA MVP plum, which included Talk ‘N Text’ Jayson Castro and Barangay Ginebra’s Greg Slaughter. The former University of Cebu stalwarts followed the footsteps of former San Miguel Beermen Danny Ildefonso who won back-to-back MVP award during the year 2000.

The former ABL player got his MVP trophy shortly before Game 4 of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between San Miguel Beer and the Alaska Aces. Aside from the MVP award, he also won the 2015 Sportsmanship Award and was included in this year’s PBA Mythical First Team and All-Defensive Team.

June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Jayson Castro, Greg Slaughter and Paul Lee joined the elite members of the 2015 PBA Mythical First Team. The PBA All Defensive Team members includes San Miguel’s Chris Ross, Rain or Shine’s Gabe Norwood, Alaska’s Calvin Abueva and Ping Exciminiano.

Stanley Pringle, the 2014 GlobalPort Batang Pier was named as 2015 Rookie of the Year. Fellow GlobalPort team mate Terrence Romeo was named as the 2015 PBA Most Improved Player. The PBA Leo Awards was formerly known as the PBA Annual Awards.
