Aside from Coach Tim Cone who will be transfering to Ginebra, the San Miguel management will also announce the appointment of former Sta. Lucia point guard Jason Webb as coach Tim Cone’s replacement at Star.

The former Alaska Aces head coach, Tim Cone guided to only the league’s fifth Grand Slam last season before failing to make any Final Four round in the season that’s about to end, the Governor’s Cup 2015.

One of the country’s leading newspaper, Inquirer broke the story of coach Tim Cone transferring to Ginebra by posting a blind item that referred to a multi-titled mentor in Cone transferring to a popular ball club, Ginebra, which, despite a loaded roster, fared badly this year.

The last coach that mentored Ginebra is no less than veteran PBA player, Frankie Lim, who despite some changes made on their line-up, failed to impressed the bosses of Ginebra as he finished a losing record in his only conference with the Gin Kings as head coach.

According to some unconfirmed reports, Coach Frankie Lim got the boot because of the fracas he was involved when the Gin Kings lost to Alaska in their quarterfinal clash.
