The top-grossing movie “Breakup Playlist” did not only conquered cinemas for its box office earnings but is also making waves on the music charts according to the latest announcement released by ABS-CBN. As of July 15, the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie occupied the top spot of iTunes Philippines music chart.
Based upon the iTunes Philippines music chart, “The Breakup Playlist” topped the album charts, beating releases from veteran artists such as The Carpenters, Bon Jovi and Badlands.
Aside from the album, the official movie theme song of “The Breakup Playlist” is in the Top 5 in the singles chart. The song “Paano Ba Ang Magmahal” performed by Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual was composed by Yeng Constantino and Jonathan Manalo.
The movie “The Breakup Playlist” features veteran actor Piolo Pascual and singer-actress and The Voice of the Philippines coach, Sarah Geronomo. The movie follows Trixie (Sarah Geronimo), a law student and aspiring singer who falls in love with Gino (Piolo Pascual), a musician looking to form a rock band.
The top-grossing movie is directed by veteran director Dan Villegas and marked the first-ever team-up of Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual on the big screen. The movie is on its third week in cinemas nationwide.
