The Star Hotshots will make a trip to the semi-finals as five of their players scored in double-digits during the game on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Veteran import Marqus Blakely led the defending champion.

The Hotshots vs. Batang Pier game was tied at 74-all with 7:49 left in the game due to the impressive three-point shooting of Terrence Romeo, but the deadlock was short-lived.

GlobalPort Batang Pier tried their best during the quarter-finals but their effort were in vain despite the twice-to-beat advantage against the Hostshots.

With the Hotshots victory they will take on the top-seeded Alaska Aces, the team that eliminated the Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel in the other quarter-finals match-up.

The Star Hotshots previously crushed the Batang Pier with a devastating 126-73 victor during their first encounter last Friday to force the do-or-die showdown. The 53-point margin of the Star Hotshots victory is now considered as the largest in the history of the PBA playoffs.
